Privacy Policy

What this instance of Semantichelp stores, where it goes, and how to get rid of it.

What is stored

Your name, your email and a PBKDF2 hash of your password; the documents you upload and the folders that hold them; your chat sessions and messages; the questions you send to an owner and the answers written back; any rating you give an answer; and your workspace settings, including an AI provider key if your organization adds one, which is encrypted at rest with AES-GCM.

What leaves the service

To answer a question, the question text, the conversation so far and the catalog passages retrieved for it are sent to the AI provider your workspace uses: Cloudflare Workers AI by default, or the OpenAI, Anthropic or Google key your organization configures itself. Embeddings are computed by the same choice of provider. Nothing is sent to a provider your workspace has not configured.

Cookies and local storage

A session cookie holds your signed-in state; it is httpOnly, lasts 24 hours, and there is no refresh token. A language cookie remembers the language you picked, your colour-mode preference is kept in your browser, and a rate limiter counts requests. There is no advertising, analytics or tracking code in the product.

The demo workspaces

demo.semantichelp.com and demo-es.semantichelp.com are public, read-only workspaces seeded with sample documents about the product itself, in English and Spanish. They hold no personal data and ask nobody to sign in.

Keeping and deleting

Your data stays until it is deleted. Deleting a document removes its stored file and its search vectors; deleting a folder removes the folder and everything in it; a chat session can be deleted, and removing someone from an organization deletes their chat sessions. There is no self-service way to delete an organization yet, so ask the operator of this instance.
